Swedish, but Paris-based, fashion designer Amanda Sandberg has a novel take
on high fashion, which challenges beauty and gender norms. Her work is filled
with asymmetrical and unexpected shapes which are borderline provocative.
Inspired by the imaginary, her illustrated characters are drawn from stories
and one cannot help but to contemplate their background as their stalking
eyes gaze deep down into your soul. She finds beauty in the crooked and the
wicked, the dark and the gloomy, and the twisted and turned. Bulging dresses,
chaotic patterns, and murky colours take the centre-stage in her creations.
Through deconstructing the perfect and the established, new ideas will
emerge.
